Sydenham Sapphires 51, Tomahawks 55

SAPPHIRES were unlucky to slip to a four-point reverse at the hands of Tomahawks on Saturday.

Incredible work rate, driven performance and team play finally reminded everyone why Sapphires were promoted to the top division in the first place.

The game consisted of accurate shooting and movement around the attacking circle from Lynne Cornish and player of the match Helen Martin.

Strong feeding into the circle from Katie Ball and Mikki Hole and the defence ensuring that they kept the Tomahawks on their toes with Rheanne Lee and Laura Coombes taking many interceptions.

Medipak are proud to sponsor Sapphires.

Rubies 11, Harlequins 61

RUBIES started well against Harlequins, despite missing a couple of their usual players.

Rubies adjusted to this change well and tried their best at scoring goals and keeping the ball safe.

With excellent defending from Chelsie Coombes and Sandy Hocking in the defending circle then short passes up the court to reach rubies goal end.

Harlequins were an experienced quick team that just had the upper hand against rubies on Saturday and the final score of the match was 61-11.

Players vote went to Sandy Hocking. Sponsored by EDF Energy.
