AFTER a prolonged break due to Christmas and competition commitments, Quantock Vale skittlers are back in league action.

League leaders Triards were at home to R and U’s, who led virtually throughout the game and were leading by 20 with one hand to go. Even though the visitors only managed to hit 37 with their last hand, it still meant Triards needed 57 to win.

Their first two players both had floppers and their scoring continued, finishing with another spare to give them a final hand of 64 which gave them victory by seven. A. Ingram was top of the alley with 102, which included a double flopper 26.

Barrie Buller's 108 for Globetrotters helped them to a slightly easier home win against Outcasts, where, despite M. Chidgey finishing with a score of 102 for the visitors, they won by 32.

Stockland Club won for only the second time at home this season but Dot’s Gang didn’t make it easy for them in a game where the lead changed hands several times.

Neither team could build a substantial lead and Club eventually won by 11. Shelley Fouracre hit 91 to put her in contention for the highest women’s away score trophy.

Dambusters secured the only away win of the week, winning at the King’s Head, beating Wanderers by 55.

Alleyboys finally built up enough of a lead over Applecrunchers to win by 39 although the Crunchers’ cause wasn’t helped by them having to use the services of their sticker-up.
