A CLOSE game took place this week between two teams at different ends of the Division 1 table in the Bridgwater Town Ladies’ Skittles League.

Hosts Blake Hall A are determined to stay in the trophy hunt while Crown Inn B’s focus is to stay clear of the relegation battle.

The home side pulled two pins on the opening hand only to lose one on the second and then pulled one pin on the third to be two up.

They then hit their worst hand of the match, 41, to which the Crown replied with 55 to pull 14.

They then pulled another single pin on the next hand to stand 13 up,only to hit their worst hand of the match, a 42, to which the home team answered scoring 54 to go one up in the game.

The home side completed their match with a last hand of 52, leaving the Crown 53 to win but they started badly scoring three 6s, a 7 and an 8, leaving their last two players to score 21.

Lin Dober scored 12 which meant anchor woman Lyn Searle had nine to win but she could only hit eight which meant a tied game and both teams having a point each
