Bridgwater Mens 10, ECV Hornets A 1

BOUYED by last week's win, Bridgwater recorded a resounding 10-1 victory at ECV Hornets.

Tom Lott scored six times for Bridgy, while there were also goals from Taylor, woolmington, Slocombe and Pope.

Bridgwater started well and controlled the game from the start and this led to Bridgwater scoring early on to put the pressure on Hornets.

With Bridgwater controlling the game well and the midfield of James, Sibley, Slocombe working hard, the forward line of Lott and Pope who tormented the hornets defence.

The end of the first half saw Bridgwater score six goals and take a dominating lead.

The second-half saw Bridgwater struggle slightly with the defence of both Upham brothers, Dyte and Morrish working hard to stop Hornets - assisted by keeper Saunders.

Bridgwater found themselves down to 10 men with Taylor picking up a yellow, and then Woolmington picking up a harsh yellow for not retreating five yards - this led to Hornets scoring a rare goal.

Men of the match Joe Sibley and Tom Lott.

Taunton Civil Service II 5, Bridgwater V 0

BRIDGWATER slipped to a heavy defeat at Taunton CS in Saturday's friendly match.

Bridgwater travelled with only 10 players, but luckily TCS had 13 so could lend a helping hand.

The game started much as the last with TCS on the front foot - but with Bridgwater having learnt from that lesson they started with Harry Rose as left back, with Kev Hicks, Evans and Steve Morrish making up the rest of the back, along with Brandon Durkin in goal.

The midfield of Harry Jackson, Connor Gillespie and Tom Evans provided energy with young Tom Syvret, Jack Dillon and Dave Dosson up top to put TCS under pressure.

But TCS looked more composed and with a stronger team they set about dominating possession and missed a couple of good chances before they found their clinical touch, scoring four before half time.

After half-time and hoping to push forward, Bridgwater left gaps at the back which TCS looked to exploit, but Durkin was on top form with Hicks starting to look like his old self.

Syvret started to look more confident with Dillon and Dosson coming close with Jackson and Rose both playing well.

TCS scored another goal before full time.
