LIME Kiln B hosted the Commercial B in Division A of the Bridgwater Thursday Skittles League and started with a solid 61, after the middle order hit eights and nines.

Commercial found their line and pulled four to level the game in the second hand.

Lime Kiln raised the bar in the third after a spare from Paul Nicholls led the team to the highest hand of the game, a seventy.

Despite pulling pins on the next hand, Commercial failed to trouble the Kiln again, who won by 34 pins.

In Division B, British Flag A visited the Rugby Club B and pulled a pin on the opening hand.

Rugby Club immediately responded, pulling two to lead by one. The game remained close in the third with a tied hand of 66, before The Rugby club raised the bar with two successive seventy odd hands, following spares from Rod Cook, anf Richards and Two from Graham Smith to build a lead of 22.

British Flag needed something special and, after Colin Pople’s 16, Reg George bagged a 13 to pull 15, lowering the deficit to seven.

Rugby Club set a target of 71 to win, and Gavin Harwood started the Flag off in the right way with a 14 spare, backed up by Reg Georges 15 ensured a final hand of 79 to win by eight.

Castle Club played their fixture in Division C at the Blake Hhall this week.

Blake started with a 58, pulling five and The Castle Club pulled a pin on the next hand, before a game topping hand of 80 pulled 22 to lead by 18.

Early 15 spares from Rich Willis and Damon Jennings and a 14 from Nigel Higgs did the damage.

Blake responded and, despite losing the last hand, won by four.

In Division D, Duke B headed away from the fair to visit the Sydenham Centre, where they built a lead of 24 pins in four hands.

Sydenham found form, winning the final three hands, culminating with the final hand of 86 which included spares from Keith Ingram, Ash Cann, Mark Duddrige, and Rich Date, who had already hit two others previously.

Sydenham won by 25.
