GLOBETROTTERS’ Jack Rich was top of the Globe alley with 109 which helped his team to their first home win beating Alley Boys by 72 and keeping up their unbeaten run to lead the Quantock Vale Skittles League table.

Dot’s Gang pulled 10 on their opening hand against Wanderers which set the tone for the rest of the game and they won by 23.

The game at the Cottage between Applecrunchers and R and U’s was initially very close with the visitors only four ahead after five hands but then two poor hands by the home team allowed R and U’s to pull 47 and they won by 67.

Despite being on their own alley, Stockland Club struggled against Triards and lost by 24.

Dambusters had to use the services of a sergeant major and lost by nine to Outcasts.

Thursday night saw the preliminary round of the Albert Chidgey KO Cup and R and U’s were unable to raise a team allowing Alley Boys to go through to the first round proper.

The match at Stockland Club was close fought with Dambusters. They needed 42 to win but could only manage 41 thus making it a tied game.

An extra hand was required and Triards went first and started with John Gray who cleared the diamond to score a 15 spare which won the game
