DESPITE their win, Bridgwater missed out on a place in the national finals after Truro College won their match to secure top spot in the South-West on goal difference.
First half goals from Jamie Howson and Josh White and a second half penalty from Joe Holder gave Bridgwater victory over a strong Plymouth side containing three England college internationals.
Jason Gunningham, director of the men’s football development squad, said: “The performance against Plymouth was a mature and extremely pleasing one.
“We knew we could not affect the Truro and Coleg Sirgar game so we focussed solely on winning our half of the draw and the players could not have done anymore.
“They should all feel very proud of their achievements this season and the players next year will have a lot to live up to!”
