CHAMPIONS Bridgwater Town Reserves started the defence of their Somerset County League Premier Division title with an eventful draw under new manager Jason Bale.
The match remained goalless until the first five minutes of the second half, when Bridgwater went 2-0 up thanks to goals from Carl Jones and Aaron Whaits.
Ten minutes later, however, Stockwood had completely turned the tables to lead 3-2.
Bridgwater's perseverance was rewarded just a few minutes from the final whistle, when Paul Goss scored the equaliser following a free kick.
Bridgwater's side is now virtually unrecognisable from the one which has won the league and cup double for the past two seasons.
Bale, who managed Bridgwater Sports last season, has taken several Sports players with him, while others have come from Middlezoy.
Bale said: “I've got mixed emotions after this first game, but overall I'm really pleased. It's a young and inexperienced team and developing them will be a challenge, but they are eager and will learn quickly.”
