NEW Bridgwater Town boss Rob Dray says he ‘can’t wait to get started’ – as the side bolstered its squad with new summer signings last week.
Sam Clark and Callum Fisher become the first two new names to step into Fairfax Park since Craig Laird departed to manage Weston and Leigh Robinson went back to take charge at Wellington.
Sam Clark was a target for the club last season and now the 20-year-old has opted to join the Robins from Clevedon United for the coming campaign.
Callum Fisher, 19, also played for Clevedon Town last season as well as captaining Bridgwater College's successful development squad.
Striker Sean Kenny has also returned to the club after several seasons away playing at Minehead and Watchet Town, where last season he scored 31 goals in 28 games.
Bridgwater also announced the appointment of Steve Perkins as first team coach last week.
New Bridgwater boss Rob Dray said: “Millie and I are delighted to have Steve on board and we have some exciting and different drills and activities to offer current and prospective players for Bridgwater.
“We can't wait to get started.”
The club also announced that Kevin Hurd would continue his role as goalkeeping coach and Becky Bidgood will step up to first team physio.
The Fairfax Park side have also finalised plans for re-establishing an under 18 development squad with Bridgwater College. This will produce an academy set-up benefiting both club and college - but will not involve a league commitment in its first year.
