D. Buller was stand-in captain for a match which was delayed by 30 minutes due to rain.

D. Morrish (6-1-14-1) opened, taking his wicket with his third ball, while M. Syvret (7.4-1-27-2) got his deserved wicket of the second opening bat.

However, the partnership of S. Morley (25) and M. Crooks (34) quickly helped East Huntspill towards a big score.

D. Buller (12-4-35-6) was the pick of the bowlers, capturing Morley on 76. And he caused further problems as he took three more victims, one to a fine catch by catch by Prior, before M. Syvret took the final wicket to leave East Huntspill on 124.

Wembdon’s innings began poorly with openers S. Morrish (0) and R. Lee (0) out within two overs.

Prior (11) and debutant Sellick (2) came to the crease, though Sellick fell when he was bowled to bring R. Morrish (17) to the crease.

Morrish worked effectively with Prior before a stunning catch took Prior’s wicket. B. Puddy (16) then put on another 27 with Morrish, who fell next.

J. Syvret (1) came in and was undone by a low bounce. M. Syvret was next in and he and Puddy built a partnership before the latter was also dismissed by an astonishing catch.

D. Morrish (0) was out shortly after, leaving Wembdon on 69-8 from 19 overs.

Chillingworth joined Syvret and the two put on an impressive stand to push Wembdon from 69-8 to 112-9 as Chillingworth (27) got a ball that barely left the ground.

D Buller (1no) put on four with Syvret (20) who was caught at square leg just nine runs short of victory.
