THE resurgent Pointers travelled to Bishops Hull looking for a third straight win.
Surprisingly, on winning the toss the hosts chose to bat on what appeared a tricky track.
With the score on 19, Tim Hill found an edge and Alex Troman held the catch at gully to give the visitors a breakthrough.
Birthday boy Mike Luckes then ripped through the top order, his subtle variations helping him to claim four wickets to leave Bishops Hull on 27-5.
John Hill then picked up two more quick wickets to leave Bishops Hull in tatters at 30-7, before a mini-revival saw the hosts rally to 59-7.
John Hill then wrapped up the tail to finish with figures of 5-22.
All three bowlers used bowled superbly, and were backed up by good fielding.
Hinkley’s reply started in disarray, with leading run scorer Luckes too exhausted to bat, after blowing out the candles on his cake!
Instead, Tim Sullivan came out to open but he quickly departed for two, after giving a simple chance to a close fielder.
Alex Towell, coming in at number three, then went for a duck to leave the Pointers reeling on 13-2.
However, the level heads of John Hill (44 not out) and Troman (26 not out) then eased their side to victory; both keeping their wickets to secure the maximum 26 points for a third straight match.
The Pointers will need to keep up their fine form when they travel to league leaders Stogumber in their next match.
