Weston-super-Mare 250-8 beat North Petherton 109 by 141 runs
TWO Somerset players at opposite ends of their First Class careers consigned North Petherton to defeat on Saturday.
20-year-old wicketkeeper Ryan Davies scored 115, helped by Peter Trego’s 37, as Weston racked up 250-8.
Ian Blackwell was the pick of the Pethy attack with 3-23, two of which were stumped by Lloyd Irish, with the other scalps shared around.
Opener Tom Williams impressed with 35 in reply but, once he was bowled by Trego, the rest of the Pethy batsmen offered little resistance as they fell to 109 all out.
Trego finished with 5-32, with Lloyd Irish was left stranded on 16 not out as the visitors were dismissed with 19.1 overs to spare in a one-sided affair against strong opposition, who went top as a result of their win.
Next weekend, Pethy host struggling Chard.
