Taunton Deane 258-6 beat Shapwick and Polden 255-8 by four wickets
SAM Edmunds continued his fine run of early season form with a century in Shapwick and Polden's opening league fixture at Taunton Deane, but his efforts proved to be in vain as the visitors slumped to a four-wicket defeat at The Convent Field.
Edmunds hit 14 fours in his 132-ball stay, while Ben Ackland added 71 from the middle-order.
Shapwick posted 255-8 batting first, but the hosts reached their target with two overs to spare thanks to 57 from Jack Fraser.
James Haggett (2-46) and Ben Rudge (2-28) took two wickets apiece for Shapwick.
