Somerset Division One West
Cleeve West Town 0, Middlezoy Rovers 3
MIDDLEZOY continued their recent good form with a 3-0 victory over Cleeve West Town to make it four wins on the bounce without conceding a goal.
Craig Wright scored twice and Alex Clapp once to seal a comfortable victory for Zoy.
Wright gave the visitors the lead when his long range free-kick bounced just in front of the keeper and he let it slip through his hands.
Moments later, Zoy found themselves two up when the impressive Charlie Lintel went on a run from left-back and found himself in the opposition penalty area - he managed to bundle the ball through a large crowd of Cleeve defenders to find Craig Wright unmarked six yards and he slotted home his second of the game.
The Cleeve side seemed happy to keep the ball at back to stop Zoy from going further ahead before the break and rarely troubled the visitor’s defence.
After the break, Cleeve started the better of the two sides, but were still limited to long range efforts that didn't trouble Zoy keeper Greg Turner.
On 75 minutes they did manage to further their lead when centre back Alex Clapp showed the forwards how to finish, smashing home from 12 yards out.
That was how it finished as Middlezoy keep up the pressure on the top sides in their promotion push.
