A BELOW strength Ashcott & Shapwick II suffered a heavy defeat nine wicket defeat to Weston on Saturday.
Batting first Ashcott were reduced to 58-4, before Josh Luckins joined Sam Spencer in a fifth wicket partnership of 56. Luckins was dismissed for 23, leaving Spencer (71) to bat with the lower-order, as the inning closed on 191-6.
Weston openers Jason Neave and Will Whittell were always comfortable against the Ashcott's attack, and added 156 before Whittell was dismissed by Luckins for 74. This was to prove the visitor's only success as Weston reached their target in the 33rd over, with Neave undefeated on 88.
