BRIDGWATER started slowly and fell behind after being outplayed for the first 10 minutes.

After a tactical change, Tom Lott equalised after a mazy run by Kody Fludgate, and it was 1-1 at the break.

Bridgwater Ladies 1sts 2, Firebrands 3rds 1

BRIDGWATER hosted Firebrands and the visitors sped out of the blocks, taking an early lead.

This was the wake-up call Bridgwater needed, as strong running from Sapphy Reed-Jang and Lucy Burridge caused trouble for the Firebrands defence, and the hosts levelled with Becca Tasker’s left-sided sweep.

The home team dominated the second half, and went ahead when a driving run and cross from Laura Coles was finished on the left post by Reed-Jang.

It was one-way traffic but the Firebrands keeper had a fine game.

Bridgwater finished 2-1 winners and were happy with their performance.

White Eagles 3rds 3, Bridgwater 2nds 0

THE Ladies 2nds travelled to Tiverton, hoping for a win against White Eagles.

Bridgwater pushed up from the outset, and some great attacking play led to Clare Wilson scoring, but the goal was disallowed for being too high.

White Eagles went on the attack, and Sue Durkin made some good saves before the hosts went ahead.

In the second half Lauren Morrish and Kashi Morrish worked hard down the wing, but White Eagles doubled their lead from a short corner.

Bridgwater then picked up the pace and were unlucky not to score, but White Eagles had the final say with a quick breakaway for their third goal.
