Somerset County League Division One

Middlezoy Rovers 2, Larkhall Athletic Reserves 0

SAM Peppin inspired Middlezoy Rovers Reserves to a fifth straight win at home to Larkhall Athletic Reserves.

In a game of fine lines, which was won by the persistence and desire of the home side, the teams were well matched for long spells, playing some good football on a soggy pitch.

Neither keeper was forced into a save during the first half as the side cancelled each other out.

Middlezoy made a couple of early chances in the second half, Peppin's header well saved by Sam Cottell in the Larkhall goal.

Dan Luce then hit the bar as pressure mounted on the visitors and the resistance was cracked on the hour mark when Peppin took the ball down on his chest and rolled it into the bottom corner.

The visitors then had a ten minute spell of pressure, making use of a dangerous long throw on occasion but were unable to find a way through.

Zoy weathered the spell and won the match when Paul Atyeo was released through on goal by Peppin, before calmly slotting home to round off another excellent display.
