DAVID Dixon continued his steady start to the European Challenge Tour season with a top twenty finish in Italy.

The Enmore Park professional finished the four rounds in Padova with a seven under par total of 277 to give him a share of 19th spot.

The event was disrupted by the weather over the week but Dixon played nicely and with slightly more luck on the greens would have been challenging the leading players.

However it is another cut made and the signs are promising for a good season for the Bridgwater golfer as he aims to regain full playing privileges on the main Tour in 2014.

He hopes to keep this form going in two weeks time when the Challenge Tour joins forces with the main Tour in Madeira for the first of the co-sanctioned events of the season meaning a much more lucrative prize fund is on offer.
