NORTH Petherton had a 2-1 victory over Bishops Lydeard to move themselves up to third place.

Josh Gracie and Oli Pascoe scored the goals with Shane Hills replying for Lydeard.

Fellow Division One side Highbridge held title contenders Staplegrove to a 2-2 draw.

Carl Edwards headed Grove into the lead from a corner but Mark Chapman got Highbridge back level, Grove created loads of chances as did Locos the previous week but keeper Steve Bailey was just on fire for the second consecutive week keeping everything out.

Peter Horton thought that he had earned Grove the three points when he headed a goal with just ten minutes to go but Chapman broke free of his marker to equalise.

Bridgwater Sports seemed to have an easier afternoon beating Dulverton Town 8-0 obviously liking their new home venue. Matt Fursland was the only player to hit two goals, one of which was from the penalty spot, the other goals were scored by Matt Stevenson, Jack Reed, Mike Skidmore, Andrew Skidmore and two more penalties one from Ben Fellows and one from Joe Daly.

In Division Two, Westonzoyland lost 2-0 to Porlock while in Division Three, Stogursey's promotion hopes were dented as they lost 6-3 to Merry Monk.

Ryan Bradford scored a hat trick, George Dowse-Brenan two and Louis Murrell one while on target for Stogursey were Murray Lister, Josh Fowler and Dan Glover.

Wembdon still believe that they can move into promotion contention and a 2-1 away win at Highbridge Reserves did their cause no harm at all, Ben Cheffey got both their goals with Paul Cook replying for Town.

Redgate's 1-0 victory over Bridgwater Sports Reserves moves them ahead of their opponents into eight place thanks to a Jack Hamblin goal.

In Division Four, Rhode Lane Wanderers lost to promotion candidates Milverton Rangers 5-3 despite Josh Baker, Craig Patrick and Callum David scoring.

The Gallery's chances of promotion took a dent when they were beaten by Porlock Reserves 1-2 with Jon Perkins getting their only goal from the penalty spot.

The mid table battle between Morganians and Norton Fitzwarren ended honours even at 2-2. Dominic Smythe and Ian Rogers scored for Norton and Chris Wells and James Norton replied for the home side.

Alcombe Rovers Reserves however improved their chances of promotion with a 1-0 win over Bridgwater Sports Colts while Galmington Dragons beat North Petherton Reserves 5-0.

Division Five saw Nether Stowey lost 5-2 to leaders Tone Youth and there was not much more better news for Woolavington as they fell to a 4-0 defeat to second place Sampford Blues Reserves.

At the other end of the table Bridgwater Grasshoppers picked up their second point of the season by not allowing Exmoor Rangers to score against them in a 0v0 draw. Alex Bradley put Middlezoy Athletic in front against East Bower after 20 minutes for just a yard out. Lee Horsey then gave away a penalty but a great save from Joe Warren kept his side in front. Martin Portlock doubled his side's lead by half time. Lee was feeling very generous and decided to give away another penalty which Adam Knight converted for Bower but Zoy held on for the 2-1 win.
