Division 2 Cup

Middlezoy Rovers 1, Portishead Town 4 (AET)

MIDDLEZOY Rovers fell at the semi final stage of the Division Two cup with defeat at home to Portishead Town.

Rovers took the lead midway through the first half with a left footed drive from Craig Wright and had keeper Baker to thank for a couple of excellent stops to prevent an equaliser before half time.

Middlezoy missed chances and Portishead made them pay with an equaliser on 65 minutes.

Seven minutes into the first period of extra time a Portishead substitute found the net through two bodies for 1-2. Middlezoy then had to commit men forward in hope of recovering the game and were undone by two further late counter attack goals by the visitors.

The team have eight games remaining and travel to Creech North Curry tonight (Tuesday) and then face a trip to Churchill Club 70 on Saturday.
