MALTSHOVEL have the Uxella League Division One title almost sown up after two wins last week.

They beat Pawlett Rebels 4-2 on Wednesday after Dean Organ, Paul Organ, Murray Lister and an own goal made up the scoring.

On Saturday, they then beat Highburn 3-0 with goals from Paul Organ, Dean Organ and Ryan Chidgey.

Elsewhere in Division One on Wednesday night, Blake Old Boys drew 4-4 with New Foresters. A Jamie Evans brace and one for Connor Watts and Kev Warre made up the scoring for Blake, whole two Paul Goss goals and one for Rich Meek and Josh Smith levelled things up.

Hat-tricks from Jake Adey and Ryan Weston helped Tiger Old Boys demolish Grasshoppers 7-1 with Dave Luce also netting. James O’Brien grabbed the away side’s consolation.

Two Damon Jennings and Jake Collard goals and one for Jason McPheat, Shane Thompson and Ollie Smith helped Red Tile beat Middlezoy Amicus 7-2, Ben Loveridge grabbing the two Middlezoy consolation goals.

In Division Two, Ramblers have staged their quest for a shot at the title with two wins. They beat Willow Green 2-0 with goals from Sam Granville and Brad Butler and also beat Huntspill 3-0 as Joe Cresswell, a Phil Court penalty and one from Brad Butler wrapped up the win.

The final Division Two match on Wednesday night saw North Petherton draw 1-1 with Cornhill, with Brad Walford netting for Pethy.

On Friday night, Knowle drew 2-2 with Huntspill BPH as Dale Curtis and Pete Boot netted.

A Lee White brace and goals for Matt Parker, Mark Witchell, Jamie Stewart and Andy White helped Flag Old Boys to a 6-1 win at Huntspill Crowns. Mike Stevens netted for Crowns.

Rhode Lane Wanderers drew 2-2 with Cobblestones and Tiger Old Boys Reserves beat Puriton 7-2 after Ian Bellinger netted a hat-trick, Leighton Davies got two and one apiece for Ryan Weston and Kevin Braund. Dan Glover netted twice for Puriton.

On Sunday, Division One side Abbey Moor won a nine-goal thriller to beat Middlezoy Amicus 5-4.

In Division Two, Huntspill BPH’s Toby Franklin got both their goals in a 2-0 win over North Petherton.

Pawel Duda, Ben Oakes, Liam Hole, Sean Roberts all netted in Willow Green’s 4-3 win over Puriton. Josh Champion scored a hat-trick but it wasn’t enough for the visitors.

Cobblestones drew 1-1 at Cornhill as Jamie Merrick scored for the away side and Knowle beat ROF 2-0 with Pete Boot and Sean Tippetts scoring.

In the Dave Hobbs Cup quarter finals, Flag Old Boys lost 6-2 at home to Tiger Old Boys Reserves. Tyron Freitas and Nick Keirle scored two apiece with one for Justin Lewis and Ian Bellinger, his 50th of the season.

In the Bill Brown Cup semi finals, Tiger Old Boys beat Red Tile 8-5 after extra time with Carl Jones hitting a hat-trick, Chris Taylor adding two and further goals from Luke Selway, Jack Winter and Ryan Weston.

Blake Old Boys won a nervy penalty shoot out against Pawlett Rebels after their match finished 2-2 after added time. Connor Watts and Martin Milton netted for Blake while Darryl Taylor and Chris Pearson scored for the Rebels.
