MIDDLEZOY Rovers move 16 points clear at the top of Division Two as their match with Staplegrove Reserves was just one of three fixtures to beat the weather.

The two teams fought out a goalless first half but Middlezoy opened the scoring through Chris singleton's low swerving shot from 15 yards.

Staplegrove equalised 10 minutes later through Adam Smith but a superb individual goal from sub Sam Lewis and another Singleton on 75 minutes made the game safe.

East Bower fell to a 6-1 defeat in their Division Five clash with Sampford Blues Reserves with Louis Watts grabbing the consolation goal.

There was little joy for Middlezoy Athletic too as they lost 6-0 to Exmoor Rangers.

Exmoor dominated the opening exchanges and after a short corner they took the lead from a neat finish by Sean Meade, a huge mistake by the 'Zoy keeper gifted Jimmy Baker the second and that's how it stayed till half time.

Baker quickly added the third in the first couple of minutes of the half, Ben Gregory got the fourth after a good run and finish past the keeper.

Zoy gifted Exmoor the fifth via an own goal and Sean Meade rounded the game off with his second and Exmoor's sixth after good build up play from the midfield players.
