BRIDGWATER Town follow up last weekend's 1-0 win away to Odd Down by going on their travels again tomorrow, as they take on Cribbs (ko 3pm).

Following the Odd Down win, Town co-manager Dave Pearse said: “It was a good performance overall.

“We were slow to get going for the first half hour but, once we got into our stride, we played well.

“Both sides had chances but ours were the more clear cut - Shaun Copp and Tyne Govier both missed with the goal gaping.”

Pearse went on to hail the impact match-winner Jack Taylor has had since joining the club from Wellington.

On the striker, Pearse said: “His work rate is phenomenal and he never gives the defenders a moment’s piece - I would hate to play against him.

“He has certainly made a difference since coming in, and he allows us to defend from the front with his constant pressure.”

The back four also received acclaim for their hard-fought clean sheet.

“Our centre-halves, Tyne Govier and Lee Begg, were outstanding,” Pearse said.

“Tyne was replacing the suspended Josh White and had a brilliant game, and the whole back four were solid.”

The Robins are 13th in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division table, and Cribbs eighth, but there are only two points between the sides and Town are looking for their third straight win.

Looking ahead, Pearse said: “I’ve been telling the boys that it’s about time we showed everyone how good our squad is.”

Jack Jenkins, who was ill last weekend, should return to the side for the trip to Bristol.
