BRIDGWATER Town's relegation could be confirmed this weekend if they lose at Mangotsfield and other results go against them.

The Robins, who have lost their last 12 matches in a row, are rooted to the bottom of the table having picked up just 10 points from their 35 league games this season.

Three teams - AFC Totton, Slimbridge Town and Yate - are 21 points ahead of them, which means that if they each pick up points this weekend and Bridgwater lose then the Robins will be consigned to the drop with seven matches of the season still to play.

Looking ahead to Saturday's match, Robins boss Phil Hucker said: "Mangotsfield have been in a bit of indifferent form of late but we know that it is a tough ask to beat them on their own patch."

Hucker admitted his frustration earlier in the week at the number of narrow defeats that have been inflicted on his side.

"We have not been outplayed in any one game since I've been here, and we've always competed," he said.

"I knew it would be a struggle as it is a difficult league, and we have been beaten by teams with more experience and a bit more quality in the final third."

This weekend's clash is the first of a tricky double header for the Robins, who then travel to high-flying Salisbury on Tuesday.
