BRIDGWATER Town manager Richard Fey was pleased with his side’s 1-0 away win at strugglers Fleet Town, despite the Robins not being able to find a second goal which would have made things a lot for comfortable or them.

Kyle Tooze’s third minute free-kick sealed the points for Bridgwater – and Fey hopes the result can set them up nicely for a difficult run of games.

He said: “It was a great win away from home - we knew it would be tough at Fleet and we travelled there confident after the win at Merthyr last week.

“The test of character was ‘can we perform the same level and win again?’

“We started excellently when Tooze scored a great free kick, and then we had a penalty which the keeper saved - and then dominated and couldn't get the second goal.

“We created plenty of chances and on another day would have won comfortably, but a 1-0 win away from home is always a good result and now it sets us up nicely for Odd Down in quarter finals (tonight) - then Stratford and Merthyr.

“All three games are going to be really tough for different reasons, but there is no pressure on us – we’re enjoying the season and testing ourselves against good teams.

“The pleasing thing for me is we have kept 13 clean sheets this season - and for a team that was favourites to be relegated, isn't a bad stat.

“I'm hoping we get a good crowd for the next three games as the club and players deserve it after the results we have been getting.”

Town welcome Odd Down to Fairfax Park tonight (Tuesday) in the Qaurter-finla of the Somerset Cup, before fourth-placed Stratford visit on Saturday.
