BRIDGWATER Town co-manager Karl Baggaley is hoping his side can be more ruthless in front of goal as they head to Hallen on Saturday (3pm).

The Robins were beaten 2-0 at home to Bitton last weekend, despite what Baggaley described as "a really good performance", and are still seeking consistency ahead of their trip to the fourth-bottom side.

"We are just not quite ruthless enough in front of goal at the minute, as has been the case since Jack Taylor has been injured," Baggaley said.

“He is back now, though, and we are getting back to full strength - Dave Thorne and Josh White return from suspension on Saturday.”

Town do have injury problems to contend with for Saturday’s trip to Bristol, however, with both Shaun Copp and Tyne Govier forced off prematurely against Bitton.

“Shaun has done something to his knee and Tyne could barely walk when he came off as he has a hip problem,” Baggaley said.

“They are both doubtful for Saturday, but the luxury of our big squad is that we don’t have to rush players back.”

Copp’s knock handed an earlier than expected debut to new signing Will Hancox, who returned to the club from Rushall last week.

On the new man, Baggaley said: “He played really well and looked lively.

“He’s a bit short of match practice, having not played in around a month, but he looked sharp and provided a breath of fresh air.”

The Robins defeated Hallen 3-0 in the reverse fixture between the two sides in September, but Baggaley is under no illusions as to the challenge facing his side this weekend.

“It’s always tough against the Bristol-based sides,” he said.

“They are often direct and physical, which has been causing us problems as we are not the biggest.

“That said, we will travel with confidence - I said to the boys on Saturday that I wasn’t sure how we had lost, so hopefully we can put that right this weekend.”

Elsewhere this weekend, fifth-placed Middlezoy Rovers travel to Ilminster Town in the Somerset County League Premier Division.

Rovers beat Stockwood Wanderers 1-0 last time out and could move third by full-time tomorrow if they win and other results go their way.

Bridgwater Town Reserves are at third-bottom Clutton.
