AFTER two narrow defeats on the road, Bridgwater Town are back at Fairfax Park for the visit of Bishops Cleeve tomorrow (ko 3pm).
Having lost their manager Craig Laird to Dorchester Town and then been battered 5-0 at home by Paulton Rovers, it would have been easy for the Robins to raise the white flag on their trips to Evesham United last weekend and North Leigh on Tuesday night.
But both brought 1-0 defeats, little reward for their efforts sure enough, but a sign that the young team are made of stern stuff - which can only bode well for the future.
The latter match saw the basement side hold eighth-placed North Leigh - an outside bet for the playoff places - to a goal-less stalemate at half time.
After the break the Robins created a number of chances, but failed to take them, while goalkeeper Liam Kingston was forced into a number of fine saves at the other end.
The hosts scored on 83 minutes, as a defensive mistake let in Roger James to rifle home, which meant a second straight 1-0 loss on their travels for Town.
Their opponents tomorrow, Bishops Cleeve, are currently 14th in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West table, and have five away wins to seven losses in the league in 2016-17.
The two teams are yet to meet this season; the Mitres drew their last two matches in the division 3-3 - away to Mangotsfield United and home to Bideford.
