DEPARTING Bridgwater Town manager Richard Fey has described the club’s supporters as ‘the best around’ after the Robins last week announced that they had accepted his resignation.

Fey and his assistant Nathan Rudge, have left Bridgwater to takeover at Southern Premier side Paulton Rovers – and Fey said he is grateful to the club for all of its support during his two-year tenure.

He said: “It all came out of the blue if I'm honest – the Paulton chairman contacted the club and the chance to manage at this level really appealed to me.

“I want to thank everyone at Bridgwater, as it’s a great club with some great people behind the scenes.

“We have progressed year after year and finished 12th, which is the highest the club have finished in seven years, bar one year and now there is a structure in place with the reserves that wasn't there when I first took over.

“The players have been brilliant and the supporters are the best around and I hope they get the success they deserve.”

The club is actively seeking a new Southern League manager and a sports therapist.

Those interested should contact Colin Andrews (vice chairman) or send CV to colcat.andrews11@btinternet.com

The final date for applications is Friday, June 5.

The club AGM will be on Wednesday, June 3 at 7.30pm at Fairfax Park.
