BRIDGWATER Town manager Richard Fey described Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Bodmin as “a game of two halves” after his side fought back from 3-0 down to earn a reply at Fairfax Park on Tuesday night.

Dave O’Hare netted twice and Kyle Tooze once in a frantic second-half fightback – and Fey was delighted with the spirit and attitude shown.

He said: “It was a game of two halves - we were without Tyne Govier, Dean Griffiths, Alex Grimshaw and Scott Thomas - so we started with an attacking line up and if I'm honest, Bodmin play their pitch really well and won the toss and kicked down the slope.

“They’re an experienced side with some very good players from Tiverton last season, and we found ourselves 3-0 down in first half.

“But saying that, we changed a few things at half time and got back to playing how we can play and what's got us results this season - we scored three goals and also unfortunately Tom Knighton had a penalty saved.

“But we played some great stuff in second half, looked a different side and showed great character.

“This was our eighth game together with the new lads and new look side - and this will help us gel as a team.

“It was a typical FA cup game and we’re still in the hat for tomorrow’s draw with only a couple of teams left in our league, so we have a second chance at it and I'm hoping the players carry on the second half performance in Tuesday night’s replay.”

Kick-off is 7.45pm at Fairfax Park tonight.
