BRIDGWATER Town’s assistant manager Nathan Rudge says there is little time for reminiscing as the Robins visit his former club Tiverton Town tonight.

Rudge spent nine years at Tiverton as a player and joined Town assistant manager at the beginning of this season having left Chippenham Town in August 2013 – but the 35-year-old former defender says his focus will be solely on Bridgwater when kick-off comes around at Ladysmead tonight.

He said: “I spent nine great years at Tiverton and it will be nice to go back and see some people there, but I won’t be looking back, I’m looking to the future.

“I enjoyed my time there but now my future is at Bridgwater and I’ll be doing all I can to help us be successful.

“It will be a tough game because they’re a good side and all away games are tough at this level, but if we play as a team and not as individuals we’ll go well.”

Rudge was impressed with the Robins display during Saturday’s goalless draw at Evesham but believes a draw was “a fair result.”

“It was a tough game away from home against a side who have spent a bit of money and we went there and competed well – I think a draw was a fair result, but we also had one or two chances to score. On another day we could have won one or two nil.”
