Calor League South & West

Bridgwater Town 0, Fleet Town 0

BRIDGWATER Town and Fleet Town played out a stalemate at Fairfax Park on Saturday, as the Robins recorded their 11th draw of the season.

An uneven and bobbly pitch did not help proceedings, but Town looked the more likely to break the deadlock throughout the 90 minutes.

They were thwarted on many occasions by Fleet 'keeper Ryan Pryce, who put in a superb display to deny the home side with a series of impressive saves.

Town manager Richard Fey described Saturday as 'a typical end of season game,' but believed his side had the chances to win the game.

He said: “Saturday was typical end of season match - we had more and the better chances, but we're now having our dry patch in front of goal.

“We were again down to bare bones and we drafted in Tyne Govier from reserves for his first start of season - and he did excellent, as did Micheal Duffy from youth team. “We were missing Jack Allward and Danny Greavies with hamstring injuries and Ger Bater and Kyle Tooze were suspended.

“Andy Robertson is having injections in his knee to play and we then lost James Pilling with a hip injury in second half.”

The result leaves Town 14th in Calor League South & West, with just two games to play.

They host Stratford Town this Saturday (April 26) in their final home game of the season.
