Bridgwater & Albion II 5, Old Redcliffians III 41

AN Ashley Pippard try was the only moment of joy as Albion fell to defeat at Old Red-cliffians on Saturday.

With a much-changed squad from last week, including two colts, Burtenshaw and Williams, the team started brightly.

Good structure and control enabled Pippard to run the ball in from the 22 metre line for a well-worked team try on ten minutes.

Reds pressure left Bridgy camped in their own 22, and a superb tackle from Stradling kept Bridgy ahead but not for long as the home side ran in tries to lead 29-5 at half time.

Two more quick tries in the second half and another try on the stroke of full time compound the misery for Bridgwater ahead of their match at home this week against Bristol Barbarians (ko 3pm).

Albion: Pippard, Brakes, Owen, Smith, Lang, Steward D, Payne, Saunders, Clark, Moulding, Williams, Burtenshaw, Steward O, Windsor, Stradling (Capt.) Reps (all used): Higginson, Polley.
