PLENTY of our sides progressed through to the next round of the Somerset Intermediate Cup this week.

Bridgwater Sports Reserves beat High Littleton 3-0. Liam Clapp opened the scoring with a great 25 yarder, Simon Caddy headed Sports to a 2-0 after 75 minutes and then he went on to add another after great assist from Mason Gill.

The Gallery beat Nether Stowey 4-2, George Pike and Lionel Crow scored for Stowey putting them 2-0 ahead but a second half comeback saw James Gibbs score two, Shane Thompson and Adam Jenkins add one each to see Gallery through to the next round.

Sydenham Rangers beat Fry Club by the odd goal in seven thanks to strikes from Ed Harrison, Jason Stephenson, Cam Wilkinson and Liam Price.

Wembdon Saints knocked out our own Redgate with a 7-2 win, Sam Granville scored both Redgate goals, Scott Harman hit a hat trick for Saints, John Doyle hit two and James O'Brien got the sixth with Redgate providing the seventh.

Middlezoy Rovers Reserves also saw off any threat from Ilminster Town Colts in a 5-0 thrashing with Max Cushing helping himself to three and Jamie Temlett two.

Morganians took their opponents to extra time but lost 1-2, Sam Weston scored their goal. North Petherton Reserves lost 0-2 to AFC Wessex and Predators lost out in the Somerset Junior Cup second round after a 5-3 defeat to Weston with Jack Traylor scoring one and Chris Taylor two.

In league action, Division One side Higbridge Town did their very best to pick up their first League points on the season but it wasn't to be losing out to North Petherton 3-4, Chris Lemarchand scored twice for Town and Stuart Green once, John Matthews was the Pethy hero with a hat trick and Lewis Irish strike saw Pethy get the three points.

In Division Two, Westonzoyland beat Bishops Lydeard Colts 3-0 with goals from Matt Evans, Andrew Evans and a strike from veteran player manager Nigel Gillard.

None of our sides were in Division Three or Four action, but in Division Five, East Bower lost out 5-2 to Staplegrove Colts despite Ed Nurcombe and Adam Knight scoring for the home side.

Nether Stowey Reserves beat local rivals Bridgwater Grasshoppers 5-1 with Dean Marchant getting three, Dave Rowsell and Dave Trout one a piece, Rob Adams scored Grasshoppers consolation.

Woolavington had a very convincing 11-1 win over Wembdon Saints Reserves with three hat tricks from Josh Corkett, Liam Neal and Will Pope, Phil Rogers and Tom Presley only managed one each, Matt Hall did save some blushes for Saints with his goal.
