Rubies 30, Dolphins 37 

RUBIES had a tough game against Dolphins and with a slow start in the first quarter Dolphins took full advantage leading 15-4.

In the second quarter some changes to the centre Court helped Rubies settled down with Roxy McDowell filling in at GS and Paige Pople at GA, finding goal they were able to reduce the deficit, but Dolphins kept their lead 24 14 by half time.

Debbie Chapman and Mikki Hole fought hard in the defence and Emma Brown and Laura Coombes feeding well into the circle, but Dolphins defence made it hard work, and the game ended 37-30 to Dolphins. Players of the match: Emma-Jayne Brown and Laura Coombes. 

Emeralds 35, Robins 24

A GOOD game for Emeralds today, saw some different faces in the starting line up. Good partnerships between Nic Hale and Amy Edmundson in the attacking circle, was backed up by good centre court players Michelle Martin, Kerry Clark and Alex Williams.

Good movement down the court saw Emeralds lead throughout the game with good defence from Emily Hoare and Rachael Coles working hard to keep the score down.

Ambers 26, Purnell 34

AMBERS started the first quarter strongly and managed to gain a five goal lead, however despite strong shooting from Tasmin Hembery and Megan Walford, Purnell pulled went ahead 9-8.

During the second and third quarters, Ambers worked well in both attacking and defensive ends with Leanne Wegg making well timed interceptions but Purnell held the lead 19-27.

Strong defending from Megan Buller and Chelsie Coombes couldn't stop Purnell running out as eventual winners.

THE Under 16s played an excellent game against Purnell 2nds leading 9-8 at half time.

Sydenham took their eye off the ball during the third quarter allowing Purnell to move into a 16 -11 lead but excellent defending from Chelsie Coombes and Molly Gould, intercepting many passes, and Tanisha Birch and Millie Burridge finding the net with ease, saw Sydenham back into the lead to win 23-11.

Well done to all players which also included Nicky Elkins, Migle Praninskaite, Georgia Edmundson, Sophie Butt and Hannah Wallis.

The Under 14s tournament started with a great win against Wells 3rds, but then came across teams who will undoubtedly be playing in the higher u14 league for the remainder of the season, unfortunately losing all three matches.
