Saturn 27, Knights 32

WITH a new line up, Saturn started very well, with excellent shooting by Becky Palmer. Great centre court movement and positive driving by Emma Reynolds made sure Saturn led 17-14 at half time.

A change in the Knights defence forced Saturn into rushing their passing and Knights pulled ahead. Despite trailing in the final quarter, Saturn kept fighting, and superb defensive play and rebounds by Sally Haysham and player of the match, Beckie Cowley, ensured Saturn stayed in the match. However, time ran out and Saturn lost 32-27.

Neptune 22, Millfield 34

NEPTUNE first quarter was rather sluggish and they needed to play their own game. In the second quarter Neptune pulled back with impressive defending play from Emma Downes (GD), Katie Chedzey (GK) and Michelle Stone (WD).

Neptune continued to apply pressure in the third quarter, which finished 18-24. In the final quarter Millfield once again fielded a strong seven and pulled away 34-22. Player of the match was Emma Downes.

Venus 51, Vipers 44

VENUS started off well despite the rain and hail, with excellent shooting from both Paige Davey (GS) and Karis Holleron (GA) and pulled away in the second quarter finishing 30-18.

This was shortly followed by a flurry of goals from both shooters to stamp their authority on the game. In spite of loud support on the sideline, Venus kept their cool and player of the match, Megan Smith (WD), Imogen Setter (C) and Chris Shaw (WA) brought the ball steadily down the court.

Venus' outstanding defence duo of Morgan Middleton(GD) and Mary King (GK) constantly put Vipers shooters off their stride, tipping the ball off the backline and pressuring their shots. Even when the home side started to narrow the gap, Venus' captain for the day, Karis Holleron, kept a steady head and Venus won the game 51-44.

Mercury 56, Frome 15

MERCURY started the game slowly, leading the first quarter 6-9. Great defence from Lucy Brown and Saskia Middleton allowed Frome to score just two goals in the second quarter. Throughout the game, accurate shooting from Norah Lewis and Morganne Dunn kept Mercury in a strong position.

With constant pressure and clever positioning from Mercury's player of the match, Julie McLean, Mercury increased their lead going into the final quarter. Unexpected hail stones and rain in the final quarter didn't stop Mercury from keeping their focus and maintaining possession, as they finished with an easy 56-15 win.
