Bridgwater A 3, Taunton Vale 3

VALE started the brighter before Bridgwater scored through Steve Turvey following a fast counter-attack. The defence of Eele, Mike Morrish and a returning Clayton Hobbs came under immense pressure and Taunton bagged three goals to lead 3-1 at half time.

But an inspired second half saw Cook through to Wilson set up Rich Payne to reverse sweep the ball into the corner for 2-3 and then they equalised when Payne committed the keeper, laid the ball to Turvey to shoot into an open goal.

Bridgwater 5ths 0, East Devon 2

BRIDGWATER came under early pressure but repelled the East Devon attacks with good defending by Steve Morrish, Liam Durkin and James Kettlewell. Up front, Brandon Durkin was active out on the right and made a number of fine runs but East Devon took the lead through a deflected penalty corner.

In the second half, John Schwieso made some terrific tackles and interceptions and debutant goalkeeper Brad Palmer made some fine saves but as tiredness set in the experienced East Devon saw scored again to win 2-0.

Bridgwater Ladies 1st 4, Winscombe 1st 3

THE Ladies started strongly with an early goal from Kira Gardner and a second soon followed when Charlie Lewis cracked a shot in the top right.

Winscombe were allowed back in with two goals before Gardner put Bridgwater back ahead with her second goal.

Kath Briggs scored Bridgwater’s fourth after she had been put through on goal and Bridgwater managed to edge the win.

Bridgwater Ladies 2nds 3, Winscombe 2nds 2

THE first half was end-to-end play with Bridgwater’s new players Becky and Kathryn linking well on the right but Winscombe finished it 1-0 up after creating several chances.

The half time talk encouraged Bridgwater and within minutes the forwards Jo B, Paige and Rachel forced a penalty corner which captain Julie scored from.

Miche popped in the second goal, with Jo adding the third and despite Winscombe pulling one back they held on for the win. They meet ECV Hornets at Chilton Trinity on Saturday at 11.30am. Player of the match: Jo Bromme.

Bridgwater Men 2nd 3, Taunton Vale 5th 1

BRIDGWATER immediately went on the attack and Liam Pigden found Paul Bond to slip the ball in from close range.

The scoreline remained unchanged up to the end of the first half but in the second half a breakaway run by Jordan Rawles brought a second Bridgwater goal, with Rawles again scoring the third despite Vale grabbing one back.
