Bridgwater College 64, St Brendan’s 11

IN a dazzling blitz of their opposition, goals scored from Sammy Kemmish and Karis Holleron saw them lead 15-2.

Hannah Symes and Morgan Middleton worked well to prevent St Brendan’s getting into the circle and in the second quarter Paige Pople and Sindy Probert showed great strength against the resistant goal defence. Leanne Wegg’s interceptions proved crucial to disrupt the visitors with precise passing from Courtney Steele and Olivia Sandys.

In the last quarter, Bridgwater continued to pile on the pressure to secure a routine win 64-11.

Nyree Madge, Academy Director said: “All players showed fantastic composure throughout the game, which allowed them to keep possession and overall win the game.”

Bridgwater College 2, South Devon College 0

GOALS from Tom Hopkins and Sam Anthony helped Bridgwater cruise to a 2-0 win over South Devon College.

In a high tempo start, Gary Berry’s weaving run into the box saw him brought down and Hopkins made no mistake from the spot kick.

Bridgwater soon doubled that lead when a pinpoint Callum Kennelly cross was met with a bullet header from Anthony leaving the keeper no chance.

Even though the second half saw no goals, it was comfortable win for Bridgwater and coach Lloyd Dean said he was impressed with the performance.

He added: “A lot of teams will come to Bridgwater and be content with placing players behind the ball. With that in mind, we were very patient with the ball and were able to maintain width throughout the game.”
