Emeralds 13, Walton Blacks 57

EMERALDS had much different starting line up causing them to start slowly. There were good links between the attacking players, ensuring they kept the ball in their end.

Meanwhile, Kerry Clark hassled her partner well alongside Vicky Evans standing in at GK.

Walton began to stretch a lead during the second quarter and at half time were 30-9 ahead, not really reflecting the game.

Emeralds had a change of positions at half time but with strong defending from Walton, they found it difficult to score the goals and the game ended 57-13 to Walton. Kerry Clark was voted as player of the match.

Ambers 13, Canons 40

AMBERS played away to an experienced Canons team at Wells, but Amber's managed to keep within two goals at the end of the first quarter with Chelsie Coombes (GK) and Megan Buller (GD) and Alex Williams (WD).

Canons used their experience to pull away and in the third quarter Leanne Wegg (C) worked tirelessly to make some great interceptions but it ended 27-8.

The final quarter saw Katie Dennison (WA), Megan Walford (GA) and Tasmin Hembery (GS) work well but Cannons ran out 40-13 winners.

The player of the match was Chelsie Coombes.

Garnets 16, Walton Green 40

GARNETS started the game strongly with great shooting from Steph Elkins (GA) and Alice Hocking (GS), supported by Hannah Wallis (C) and Lucy McCabe (WA).

Defensively, there was also some excellent play from Vicky Evans (GD), Mia Bennett (WD) and Molly Gould (GK), who was playing her first game for the club.

Walton Green proved a strong team though and despite the introduction of Lucie McDowell (GK) and her accurate interceptions, Garnets lost the game 16-40.

Lucy McCabe was voted player of the match.
