CRICKET: Nick Compton voted Player of the Year
SOMERSET batsman Nick Compton lifted the Player of the Year award at the Professional Cricketers' Association end-of-season awards in Battersea.
Compton was the only English batsman to score 1,000 runs in the Championship and averaged 99.
The accolade comes close on the heels of Compton's selection for the England Test tour of India this winter.
