South West Women’s Premier

Cleeve West Town 2, Bridgwater Town 6

ANUSIA Rourke starred on debut as Town Ladies completed a comprehensive victory over Cleeve West Town Ladies on Sunday.

It took until the half-hour mark for Chelsea Pitt to set up new striker Rourke, who made no mistake.

Ten minutes later, a poor clearance from the Cleeve keeper went straight to Rourke, who took the ball on and fired past the advancing keeper, for her second goal.

After half-time, Cleeve pulled a goal back in the 50th minute but, three minutes later, Rourke completed her hattrick swooping in at the back post.

Town’s fourth goal was a nice move from Georgia Coles, who slipped the ball through the Cleeve defence for Rourke to round the keeper and score her fourth goal of the match.

Cleeve pulled one back but on 80 minutes, a cross from the left by Devon Rich was flicked on by Rourke into the path of Anneka Russ who drilled the ball past the keeper. Rich hit the sixth goal from an acute angle.

On Sunday, Bridgwater are at home to Plymstock United (ko 2pm).
