IT proved to be a disappointing week for Bridgwater -based European Tour pro David Dixon at the KLM Open in Holland.

He travelled to the superb course at Hilversumsche, 25 miles from Amsterdam, in high spirits following a Pro Am victory at Exeter last Sunday but he was unable to re-produce that form when things got underway on Thursday.

His opening round of 72 left him with plenty to do and despite opening his second round with a birdie he was unable to add any more to it to move him inside the cut line.

In the end shots were dropped throughout the round as he tried to salvage his score and his involvement in the event came to an end on Friday evening when the cut was made at level par.

This week, Dixon moves on to Italy for the BMW Italian Open where he enjoyed a top 15 finish last season and hopes that he can repeat that sort of form again this time around.
