RUGBY fans are in for a treat this weekend with the eagerly anticipated derby match between Bridgwater and Albion and North Petherton , writes Daniel Milligan.

But team spokesmen from the clubs have played down the rivalry saying that it is 'just another league game'.

Albion have had a mixed start to their season, losing to Cullompton but then beating North Dorset this weekend, while Petherton are unbeaten after wins over North Dorset and Wadebridge Camels.

As it stands, Petherton have the bragging rights following their 9-6 win in the semi-final of the Somerset Cup last season which around 1000 people turned out to watch.

Albion head coach said: “We are going to do our own thing and hopefully it will be good enough on the day.

“They are a good side with good players and they have a style of play which suits them and you have to respect that.

“We are going to come up with a few new tricks for the match but I think the winner will be the one who makes the least mistakes.”

North Petherton skipper James Carter said: “Hopefully we can get a good crowd behind us because it is enjoyable to play with and lifts our game.

“We do not want to get in front of ourselves and our main aim in the stay in this division and keep taking each week as it comes.

“There are lots of other teams in this league so we are not concentrating on what Bridgwater do too much even though I know the boys are looking forward to the game.”

The match will kick off at 3pm at Bath Road.
