Paulton Rovers 1, Bridgwater Town 4

JOINT manager Kevin Milsom said his side's first win of the season on Saturday was overdue after the team beat Paulton Rovers 4-1.

Goals from Dave Pearse, Tim Legg, Joe McClennan and Steve Fitzpatrick saw the team home despite conceding in the first minute.

Milsom said: It has been coming and I have not been too concerned about the start to the season because we have been a whisker away from winning in each one.

β€œIt was a good all round team performance and if we keep creating chances then we are going to take them.”

But things could not have started worse for Town as the visitors' striker Dave Stone hammered home an unstoppable shot.

New signing McClennan shot wide on the quarter-hour mark but a neat flick from Pearse produced the equaliser following excellent interplay from Fitzpatrick and Jon Vance.

The second half was dominated by Bridgwater and Tim Legg put Town in front on 53 minutes as he headed home Vance's pinpoint cross.

McClennan increased that lead on 61 minutes with an expertly weighted lob to leave the Paulton keeper floundering and the scoring was completed when Fitzpatrick produced a powerful shot from a narrow angle to send the travelling fans home in jubilant mood.
