Premier League
Somerset Rebels 51, Leicester Lions 39
THE Rebels kept up their good form by taming Leicester Lions.
The meeting got off to a perfect start as Jason Doyle bolted from the tapes in the rerun heat one to charge home ahead of the field.
Kyle Newman and Tom Perry produced a maximum win in heat two and James Wright and Jesper Monberg the same in heat three as the Rebels stormed to a 14-4 lead.
The Lions clawed their way back into contention and, after eight heats, the scores read 25-23.
Wright and Monberg again combined in heat nine for a 5-1 win and Jason Doyle continued his fine form with wins in heat ten and 13 to keep the pressure of Leicester.
Two first place finishes for Wright in the final two heats topped off a superb night of riding for him as the Rebels completed their third win on the bounce.
