TAUNTON and Pickeridge Golf Club is losing its executive manager, Salar Brock, who will leave in September to work for celebrity chef Rick Stein.
Brock will become the manager of Stein’s flagship, The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, Cornwall.
Club chairman Gerry Mulder said “We are very sorry to lose Salar, who has played a big part in making our club an attractive place in which to eat and to socialise.
“It is a big feather in Salar’s cap to have been asked to manage such a significant restaurant; we like to think that we have contributed to the development of his career since he joined us early in 2010.”
Brock said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at one of Somerset’s premier golf club, and learned a lot.
“I will miss the members and staff, but Rick Stein’s offer was not to be refused.
“There will always be a special welcome in Padstow for anyone I have come to know at the club in the last two-and-a-half years.”
