NORTH Petherton recorded their fourth win of the season on Saturday over Wembdon at Heathfield Park.

Petherton put the visitors into bat and despite a lack of control from opening bowlers Smith and Briffet, Pethy were always on top, removing visiting batsmen regularly whilst keeping the total down with some good fielding.

Lambert was the pick of the home bowlers with three wickets whilst a tight spell of accurate bowling from veteran Paul Furston ensured the run rate was below average. Smith and Briffett picked up wickets themselves as Wembdon posted a low total of 110-9 off their 45 overs.

In reply, Petherton were never in trouble and despite a light drizzle the required 111 was reached in the 21st over without the loss of a wicket. Tom Williams and Torren Everett both reached fifties with 58 and 54 respectively with the winning runs being hit by Everett.
