AN unbeaten Lewis Irish century and a storming spell of 6-19 from Lewis Knight helped steer North Petherton to a big 35-point win over Temple Cloud on Saturday.

Skipper Tim Gibbs won the all-important toss and opted to bowl first on a tough batting track.

A scintillating bowling display from Lewis Knight (6-19), whose array of variation made his spell a pleasure to watch, and Tim Gibbs (2-19) reduced the visitors to 25-5.

Lloyd Irish (2-15) chipped in as Cloud limped to 148 all out.

In reply, opener Lewis Irish (100 no) batted exquisitely for his maiden Division 1 century, showing a combination of patience, control and power throughout.

He was ably supported by his team’s top order and reached his hundred with the winning runs to complete a great innings and a massive win for North Petherton.
