WEMBDON produced a gritty win but didn't have everything their own way against Banwell and Churchill on Saturday.
Banwell got off to a flyer, hitting 67 from nine overs before Max Syvret (1-40) trapped the opener in front.
But it was Paul Cook (6-45) who routed the Banwell line-up backed up with good fielding and two wickets from Weston (2-59) and Chillingworth (1-30) to restrict them to 173.
In reply, Rich Weber (61) went off like a rocket with opening partner Lee (six) hitting a huge six but was out the following ball.
This brought Pigden to the crease (11) who batted solidly, rotating the strike with Weber and looking good with the bat before he chipped the ball to the fielder.
Ben Stone kept a cool head to hit 47 and get Wembdon to the finish line with R Paull (10) and Cook (18 not out) offering ample support.
