SOMERSET were consigned to their third consecutive CB40 defeat of the season after losing to Hampshire by nine wickets at a sun-soaked County Ground.
Promising batting displays from Nick Compton (81) and Jos Buttler (71) were the only shining lights for the Cidermen on an otherwise miserable day as they ended 212-9.
Craig Overton (20) was the only other player to make double figures for the home side.
It was a different story for the visitors, who raced to victory with 70 balls remaining, thanks to a stunning century by Michael Carberry (103*).
Somerset return to LV County Championship duty on Wednesday (May 30) at Worcestershire.
