THREE Bridgwater College students played for the England Colleges National Football Squads against the Under 17 and Under 19 Estonian male and female teams at the A La Coq National Stadium in Tallinn, Estonia.
Beth Howard, Shannon Osman and Tom Hopkins joined Bridgwater College staff, Ben Norman (National team logistics manager), Luke Buckingham (National Goalkeeping Coach) and Jason Gunningham (National Performance Manager for Men and Women's Football) for the final games in this year's England Colleges Football season.
Goalkeeper Beth Howard and midfielder Shannon Osman played in the thrilling 5-0 win in the women's first game and both starred in a gritty 2-1 defeat in their second game that saw England playing with 10 players for 20 minutes.
The men's team lost their opening fixture 3-2 in a very close encounter but saw Tom Hopkins score England's second goal after a dominating performance in the centre of midfield and he was able to help the team to a well-deserved 2-0 win in the final fixture ending the week on a high.
